Agricultural water decisions are made on a seasonal cycle against information that usually arrives too late to change the outcome. Common questions from agriculture sector

What resolution can you monitor at?

Sentinel-2 gives 10 m pixels every five days, which resolves individual fields for most commercial holdings. Smallholder plots below roughly a quarter of a hectare are marginal at that resolution, and we would say so rather than deliver an analysis whose pixels are larger than the fields it claims to describe.

Does NDVI actually predict yield?

It correlates with biomass and crop vigour, which correlate with yield — but that is a relationship, not a forecast. NDVI is most reliable used comparatively: this field against neighbouring fields, this season against the same date in previous seasons. Treat an absolute NDVI value as a yield prediction and it will mislead you.
