About the CV Maker
The CV Maker gives you an editor on one side and a live, page-accurate preview on the other, so you can see the effect of every change as you make it rather than exporting repeatedly to check. Sections can be reordered, renamed or removed — if your education matters more than your work history, move it up; if you want a Publications section, rename an unused one.
Seven templates cover the range from a plain ATS-safe layout to something with more presence for design-adjacent roles. The Minimal template deliberately avoids columns, icons and photos, because those are exactly the features that confuse applicant tracking systems. Accent colour, typeface and spacing are adjustable independently of the template.
Nothing is uploaded. Your CV lives in the page while you work on it, and the Save backup button writes a JSON file to your device that you can load again later. There is no account, so there is nothing to sign up for and nothing stored on a server.
How to use it
- Fill in your details in the editor on the left — contact information first, then each section in turn. The preview updates as you type.
- Use the section controls to reorder, rename, or remove sections so the CV leads with whatever is strongest for the role you are targeting.
- Pick a template, then adjust accent colour, typeface and spacing until it reads the way you want. Choose Minimal if the application goes through an ATS.
- Use Save backup to write a JSON copy to your device. Load backup restores it later — this is how you keep multiple CV versions.
- Export to PDF for applications, Word if the employer asks for an editable file, or plain text for online forms that strip formatting.

Which template is best for ATS?
Minimal. It avoids the multi-column layouts, icons, text boxes and photos that applicant tracking systems commonly fail to parse. Run the result through the ATS Score Checker to see a heuristic read on how it will be handled.
Does it autosave?
No — this build deliberately stores nothing in the browser between visits. Use Save backup to download a JSON file, and Load backup to restore it. That also means you control where your CV lives.
Can I edit the exported file afterwards?
The Word export is editable in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice. The PDF is fixed by design, since that is what most employers expect to receive. To change anything, edit here and export again.
