About the CV File Converter
Application portals are inconsistent about formats: one demands PDF, the next rejects it and wants .doc, a third has a plain-text box that mangles anything pasted with formatting. This tool extracts the text from a DOCX or PDF CV and lets you re-export it in whichever of those three you need.
Be clear about what it does and does not preserve. It recovers the text and its ordering; it does not reproduce the original's columns, custom fonts, images or precise layout. That is a limitation for a designed CV, but it is precisely what you want when the target is a plain-text field or an ATS that would have stripped the styling anyway.
Extraction happens in your browser using the same PDF and DOCX parsers the rest of these tools use, so your CV is never uploaded. Scanned or image-only PDFs will not work — there is no OCR here, and a scanned CV contains no text layer to extract.

- Check the extracted text. Extraction from a heavily formatted PDF can interleave columns, so fix the ordering here if it has.

Frequently asked questions
Will my formatting be preserved?
No. This extracts and re-exports text, not layout. Columns, custom fonts, images and precise spacing are lost. If you need the original design, keep the original file and use this only for the plain-text or ATS-facing version.
Can it read a scanned CV?
No. A scanned or photographed PDF is an image with no text layer, and there is no OCR in this tool. If your only copy is a scan, you will need to retype it or run it through an OCR tool first.
Is my CV uploaded to a server?
No. Parsing and export both happen in your browser. The file never leaves your device, which matters given a CV carries your address, phone number and full work history.
